Urban Beekeepers
From the rooftop of the Royal Festival Hall to city farms to disused churches, Urban Beekeepers help the bees thrive in various locations in London. ‘City honey’, can often be very complex due to the bees’ 3-8km radius coupled with the variety of flowers that populate the gardens in London. The various adaptations by the keepers to accommodate the honey bee are admirable.
The city farms are invaluable for maintaining a much needed connection to nature inside the city. Most of the beekeepers are outdoor educators too and their investment in the bees is an investment in the future.
